Lofi visualizer: a cosy 3D room that moves with your song.

Upload your lofi track and its cover. Lofi Room builds a room at night around it: a desk under a big window, rain on the glass, the city blurred into bokeh outside, a lamp, plants, a cat asleep on the sill and your cover on the wall. We split the track into stems, so each snare runs a drop down the glass, the bass breathes the lamp, the hi-hats light far windows and the melody lights the fairy lights. The chorus brings the rain in harder. It renders 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and a Spotify Canvas.

The Lofi Room template in the Night Rain style: a dim room at night, rain running down a big window over a desk with a lamp and a monitor, city lights blurred outside and the title card on the left, rendered from our demo song

What drives what in Lofi Room.

The room is calm by design: nothing jumps, nothing shakes, and every reaction is small enough to sit under a study session. These are its reactions, from the template's source, with the name each one has in the studio, where you can turn it up, down or off.

  • 6 stems
  • Kick · snare · hi-hat events
  • Bars, sections and the drop
  • Energy (how loud the song is)The rain: more drops land on the pane and more streaks fall outside as the song gets louder, and it eases off in the quiet parts.Rain follows the music
  • SnareEach snare lets one big drop run down the glass, wiping a clear trail through the mist behind it.Snare drops
  • BassThe desk lamp breathes: its glow turns a little brighter and softer with the low end.Lamp breathes
  • KickA tiny nudge to the steam over the mug and the dust floating in the lamp light.Kick nudge
  • Hi-hatsLights switch on in far windows of the city outside.Window blinks
  • VocalsSinging warms the lamp and lifts the fairy lights.Voice warms the light
  • Melody notes (guitar, keys)Each note lights a bulb on the string across the window, low notes on the left, high notes on the right.Melody on the lights
  • SpectrumThe monitor on the desk plays a small equaliser of the song, with a progress line.Screen equaliser
  • The barThe cat asleep on the sill takes one breath a bar.Cat: Sleeping
  • Song progressThe night passes: the sky moves toward dawn from the start of the song to its end, as far as you set it.Night passes
  • SectionsThe hour and the weather. The intro is lighter rain on misted glass, the chorus brings heavier rain and brighter city lights, the bridge leans toward snow, a breakdown turns the rain to snow and the outro clears toward dawn. Each change eases in over 2.4 to 3.2 s.Section moods
  • The dropLightning flashes over the city when it's raining. When it isn't, the city's lights switch on in a wave.Drop

The Music tab adds four extra moves for Lofi Room: Voice lights the lamp, Chorus downpour (heavier rain and brighter city lights in the chorus), Bass swells the bokeh and Melody on the string. One Reaction slider runs from Calm to Wild, each instrument has its own strength, and under Advanced you can link any setting to any sound. Every reaction is worked out from the song's timeline, so a moment renders the same played, seeked or exported.

The drums are split into kick, snare and hi-hat hits before any of this runs, which is why the snare can own the glass and the kick only the steam. A visualizer that listens to the whole mix can't tell them apart. The audio-reactive visualizer page shows how each stem is heard.

All 10 Lofi Room styles.

A style sets the view, the weather, the hour, the light and the props in one click. Change any of them after you pick it: the view outside (city, pine forest, train window, alley), rain or snow, the lamp, the cat, the monitor, the clutter on the desk.

The stills come from the studio and show our own test cover. Four Feel sliders work on every style: Glow (soft to blazing), Motion (still to restless), Detail (a tidy desk to a lived-in one) and Framing (close to wide).

Your cover on the wall.

The cover comes from the file's embedded art, or from a picture you add in Branding (JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 12 MB). Lofi Room puts it in one of three places, and takes the room's colours from it.

  • Poster (the default)A framed print on the wall, lit by the lamp
  • MonitorFull screen in the player on the desk
  • Record sleeveOn the shelf by a turntable, on the label too
  • The coloursTaken from your cover by default
  • No coverA palette print: a moon over hills

The cover is printed art in the room, not a flat sticker: the lamp and the window light it like everything else, and the room is framed so the poster always stays in the picture, clear of your title and logo. Neon City and Tokyo Alley put it on the monitor; Night Train and Vinyl Night stand it by the turntable.

The picture is a warm and cool split. The lamp, the bulbs and the lit windows take the warmest colour in the palette, the night and the window light its coolest, and the furniture sits in between. When the colours come from your cover, a cover with no warm colour in it pulls the lamp toward tungsten, so the room still reads as lamp-lit. You can pick one of 8 palettes or three colours of your own instead.

Without a cover, or with the cover set to Off in Branding, the poster, the sleeve and the record label show a palette print, a moon over three ridges of hills in the palette's colours, and the monitor plays its spectrum across the whole screen. A placeholder the app draws from your title stays out of the scene. The renders on this page are made with the cover off, so the poster you see is that print.

A background of your own, a picture or a video, becomes the view through the window. The drops, the mist and the reflections stay on the glass in front of it.

The tall version, and a Canvas that loops.

In 9:16 the room is built again for the frame, not cropped out of the wide one: a tall window over a narrower desk, the poster beside it, the trailing plant hung from the ceiling.

A Spotify Canvas loop rendered in Lofi Room, Night Rain style, in its own 9:16 layout: a tall rainy window over a desk, behind the now-playing screen

Lofi Room · Night Rain · Real export, 9:16 loop

A Spotify Canvas is up to 8 seconds long, cut in whole bars so the restart lands on a downbeat. The last beat is crossfaded into the first, so it loops without a jump. A slow scene like this one suits it: rain and a lamp don't give the loop away.

The phone frame trims a little off each side, the way a phone screen does. The file itself is the full 9:16 frame.

Why lofi channels use a room.

The lofi upload most people picture is one illustrated room, a window and soft motion that runs for the whole track. It holds up for reasons that have little to do with fashion.

  • It's made for background listening. People put lofi on to study, work or fall asleep. A busy video pulls the eye off the page. A room with rain and a lamp gives the screen a mood without asking to be watched, and small motion tells a viewer the video hasn't frozen.
  • A window sets the time and the weather. Night, rain and city lights say "late and quiet" before the first chord. That's why Lofi Room moves the hour and the weather with the song: a chorus of heavier rain, snow in a breakdown, dawn by the outro.
  • One scene makes a channel recognisable. The same room across every upload is a brand, the way a label's sleeve design is. Press "Use for my next tracks" in Branding and each new track starts from this look.
  • It doesn't need a performer. Most lofi is instrumental and made by one producer. A room carries the video with no face, no band and no footage to shoot.
  • Where a looped clip falls short. A short animated loop under a long track repeats every few seconds and ignores the music. Lofi Room renders the whole song, so the room follows it from the first bar to the last and never repeats the same few seconds. Flashes are rare here; turn the Drop slider to 0 and the lightning goes too, and the export's Flash-safe switch slows any flashing to under three a second.
  • Long uploads. A song can be up to 20 min and 120 MB. A 20-minute WAV at CD quality is about 212 MB, so upload a long track as FLAC or a high-bitrate MP3. A one-hour mix doesn't fit in one upload today, and songs go in one at a time. For a vinyl look on the same track, see the Vinyl template; for every other look, the templates page.

The video renders frame by frame in your browser tab, not as a screen recording, and joins the song's audio. A 3D engine draws every frame; models only listen, to split the stems and find the beats and the sections. A recent Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop is the safest choice for long or 4K renders.

Put your song in the room.

Upload the track and its cover, pick Lofi Room, and watch the snare run drops down the glass. The preview is free; the video file comes with Unlimited.
